Tips on Choosing a Remodeler

In your selection of a remodeler, some major points that you may want to address are reputation, quality of work, project scheduling, and experience.

It is a good idea to request a list of projects including those currently under way, some of which have been completed within the last thirty days, and those which have been completed within the last six months. Did the remodeler provide you with a wide variety or does the remodeler tend to specialize in only one or two areas of remodeling? At best, you would like to have at least two projects that are similar to yours. Contact a few of the references. When speaking with them, the questions below may be helpful in examining your concerns as a client and distinguishing one remodeler's qualifications from another.

What types of warranties does the remodeler offer? What is the duration and extent of the coverage?
Was the remodeler able to provide assistance with financing?
